A genuine leather case, handmade in Italy, protects its mechanism like the tool of a great artisan. The fine blades of the corkscrew slip between the side of the cork and glass neck to open or re-cork a bottle, all with a simple turn of the hand and no forcing. Patented by L’Atelier du Vin in 1949, this opening system lets you extract the cork without piercing its surface – before putting it back into place as if nothing had happened at all.

How to use the “Bilame”, twin blade corkscrew ?

  • Insert the long blade between the neck and the cork, and the short blade on the other side.
  • Move the handle back and forth to push the two blades all the way down.
  • Unscrew while pulling the handle upwards to extract the cork by gradually turning, without forcing.

A Twin Blade Corkscrew Manufactured in France, with a Genuine Leather Pouch

A Twin-Blade Bottle Opener with a Raw and Handcrafted Design

This Zamak twin-blade bottle opener stands out for its simple and practical design. The raw texture of the material speaks for itself. The wine tool features a sturdy handle, providing a firm grip every time. Once removed from their sheath, the two blades are ideally spaced to fit between the cork and the glass neck – a corkscrew of the highest technical and ergonomic quality.

A Handcrafted Genuine Leather Pouch

You can recognize a true craftsman’s tool by its sturdy, made-to-measure case. The superb Bilame Craft corkscrew’s sheath, handstitched with red thread in Italy and made out of thick leather, was created by our design partner Margherita Matticari. The warm leather and cool metal complement each other perfectly. The pouch protects the blades, extending the professional bottle opener’s lifespan, so that it can be passed down from generation to generation.

A Corkscrew for Connoisseurs, Ideal for Cellared Wine

Corks can become more fragile over time, especially when the wine has been kept in a cellar for several years. Opening the bottle with a spiral worm could damage the cork, causing it to crumble into the wine. The Bilame Craft bottle opener, on the other hand, enables to carefully extract the cork without piercing it. Winemakers, merchants, and sommeliers use this wine tool to open vintage aged grand crus. A must-have wine cellar accessory coveted by connoisseurs.
