Reveal the wine at the precise moment of service
Aerating wine is not automatic. It is a choice. A gesture. A moment.
Thanks to its patented design, the Developer® allows you to aerate wine directly in the glass or during decanting, according to the desired intensity. In just a few seconds, the wine opens up, aromas unfold, and the structure softens — without prolonged waiting.
Why use a wine aerator?
Many wonder: should a young wine be decanted? How to aerate wine quickly without waiting an hour?
Aeration allows the wine to reveal its aromatic potential. Traditionally, this requires a long decanting time. The Developer® Universal offers an immediate, precise, and controlled alternative.
As the wine flows along the flared wall of the device, it gently trickles, maximizing contact with air. This controlled aeration:
- Releases held-back aromas
- Reduces reductive notes
- Softens tannins
- Preserves the delicacy of the fruit and the expression of the terroir
Unlike harsh aeration, the Developer® Universal accompanies the wine; it does not force it.
The advantages of the Developer® Universal
Choosing the Developer® Universal means opting for a versatile tool that adapts to all tasting situations.
Optimized tasting with no waste
One of the great strengths of the Developer® Universal is its ability to aerate wine directly in the glass. No need to fill an entire decanter you might not finish. Serve the exact amount desired, perfectly aerated, preserving the rest of the bottle for later enjoyment.
Adjustable intensity according to the wine
Tasting becomes customizable according to each guest’s preferences. For intense aeration, the Developer® Universal offers unique flexibility: it can be used first when decanting, then a second time directly in the glass. This double aeration is especially appreciated for powerful red wines that require maximum opening.
Elegant gesture at the table
Accompanied by its frosted pressed glass base, the Developer® naturally finds its place on the table. The base collects the last drops after use, preserving the tablecloth and the precision of service. Mastered technique, understated elegance: the signature balance of L’Atelier du Vin.
How to use: The ritual for perfect aeration
To make the most of your wine aerator, we recommend the following service protocol:
Installation: Place the Developer® Universal on your glass or the neck of your decanter. Ensure the spout is in full contact with the inner wall of the container.
Pouring: Slowly pour the wine along the flared wall of the aerator, as high as possible. This gentle flow maximizes exchange with oxygen.
Flow: Wait for the wine to fully flow into the glass through the lower siphon. Tilt the device slightly if needed to pour the last drops.
Rest: Once finished, place the Developer® Universal on its frosted glass base.

FAQ – Your questions about the Developer® Universal wine aerator
What types of wine should be aerated?
The Developer® Universal is particularly recommended for:
Young red wines (under 3–5 years)
- Reduces reductive notes
- Softens tannins
- Enhances aromatic bouquet
Structured white wines
- Reveals freshness
- Highlights floral and mineral notes
- Expands flavor expression on the palate
For old vintages, a measured approach is advised. Too rapid aeration may weaken an aged wine. Testing a small quantity first is the best approach.
Its universal design allows it to adapt to most glasses and decanters, making it indispensable for any discerning wine lover.
Can it be used on aged wines?
For older vintages, caution is advised. Too rapid aeration can damage an aged wine. Testing a small quantity first is recommended. For young wines, however, the aerator is ideal.
What is the difference between decanting a wine and using a wine aerator?
Decanting is a slow process that usually takes 1 to 2 hours. A wine aerator achieves a similar result instantly by increasing contact between wine and air during service. The Developer® Universal allows aerating a single glass at a time.
What materials is the Developer® Universal made of?
The Developer® Universal is made of high-quality stainless steel, neutral to wine flavor, ensuring perfect hygiene and long-lasting durability. The base is made of frosted pressed glass.
