An Inspiring Journey and a Unique Vision<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After graduating in 2004, Marc Venot<\/strong><\/a> began his career in an agency before setting up his own studio in 2011. Based in the Belleville neighborhood of Paris, he pours his expertise into a wide range of projects, with a vision of inspiration as omnipresent. \u201cAnything can be a source of inspiration,\u201d says Venot. \u201cOur experiences, our daily lives, travel and the history of design are all essential elements that feed my creative process.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This ability to draw on a wide range of experiences is evident in his recent creations. Le Brasseur<\/strong><\/a> and Le Vigneron<\/strong><\/a> are far more than just simple tools. They are the result of a great deal of thought and experimentation to achieve a design that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Self-Sufficient Objects<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Marc Venot considers his creations \u201cobjects that stand on their own.\u201d He considers design to be about presence and impact. \u201cWe were looking to make timeless objects with a distinctive, appealing and recognizable form. The aim was to create objects that people will always keep on display\u2014decorative pieces and not items you hide in a drawer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This approach is particularly evident in Le Brasseur<\/strong>, the bottle opener designed to a true \u201ctabletop companion,\u201d and Le Vigneron<\/strong>, a T-shaped corkscrew combining tradition, innovation and expertise. \u201cLe Brasseur and Le Vigneron are two friendly little figurines that are great to keep close at hand during all the good times in life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Importance of Materials and Functionality<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When talking about his creative process, Marc Venot emphasizes the importance of functionality and materials. \u201cThe major challenge was to create a dialog with the foundry technicians to achieve a shape that was close to our initial design. We also had to ensure that the products felt good in the hand without being too heavy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Durability is at the heart of his vision. For Venot, \u201ccreating objects that are highly resistant and indestructible is essential.\u201d That’s why Le Brasseur<\/strong><\/a> and Le Vigneron<\/strong><\/a> are made from stainless steel and coated with a PVD finish, guaranteeing their longevity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The collaboration with L\u2019Atelier du Vin has been an enriching human adventure for Marc Venot. \u201cEvery project is ultimately a human adventure,\u201d he explains. \u201cWorking with Georges was simple, clear and efficient. He respects the work of creators and has great sensitivity and expertise.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Vision for More Sustainable Design<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Marc Venot has expressed a desire for a more sustainable future in design. \u201cI’d like us to move towards more thoughtful and sustainable purchasing. \u2018Less but better,\u2019 as Dieter Rams says.\u201d The current trend of \u201ceverything all the time, right away, disposable and cheap\u201d is something Venot has criticized, calling for a collective awakening and movement toward quality products that are made to last.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The award highlights the perfect symbiosis between Marc Venot’s two years of work on the product and the photo taken by Marie Lukasiewicz. The game of mirrors, serving only to enhance the pure forms of Marc Venot\u2019s creations, left the jury captivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The award was presented at the September 2024 Maison&Objet show in Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
